Neurobiology Drosophila-programmed cell death, anaesthetic action, taste and olfactory pathways, antennal studies, chemosensation; Biochemistry and Molecular Biology -( moss, corn, sorghum)auxin binding, CAM, G proteins were studied ,(chlamydomonas)recombination in plants; Yeast Molecular biology-(S. pombe)glycolytic shunt pathway; Molecular Biology for Malarial Parasite-(P. falciparum, P. vivax, P. knowlesi) cDNA, CS antigen, (rabbit models used);; 8 research groups, Neurogenetics-(Drosophila) IP3 signalling pathway, olfactory and taste transduction; Infectious diseases-Human papilloma virus-virus integration occurs earlier than thought; Structural and Cell biology-membrane transport, cloned potassium channels used, barstar protein; Highlights : O.Siddiqi-O.P.Bhasin Award for Biological Sciences(94),Life Member-Cambridge University(95);J.B.Udgaonkar,G.Hasan,S.Krishna-Rockefeller Foundation Biotechnology Career Fellowship; Molecular analysis collaboration with William Chia's lab, Institute of Molecular and Cell Biology, Singapore; Sensitive fluorophore assay developed, Inebriometer Assay developed.
