Drosophila Neurobiology- muscle development, gustatory pathway, horseradish peroxide uptake by neurons, sensory fibres in antenna, synaptogenesis was studied in embryos; Study using the moss, protonema, of auxin role in cell differentiation between caulonema and chloronema states; G proteins; Drosophila proto oncogenes; Glycolysis in yeast- (Saccharomyces cerevisiae) Aldolase suppression, PDC2; Malarial Parasite-(P.falciparum-obtained from Gujarat and Delhi, P.vivax, P.knowlesi) immunogenic proteins, CS antigen, variation among Indian and African P.falciparum; Highlights : O.Siddiqi-Honorary professor, Jawaharlal Nehru Centre for Advanced Scientific Research, Bangalore; immune sera collected from malaria transmission regions of Orissa; K.VijayRaghavan attended meetings on Neurobiology of Drosophila, N.Y. and New Orleans, USA and visited Caltech on the Rockefeller Foundation Fellowship.
