This resource consists of single issues and bound volumes of Swasth Hind Magazine (monthly periodical) from the library at St John’s Medical College. All available issues, from 1958 up to 1994.
Swasth Hind is published by the Central Health Education Bureau (Directorate General of Health Services) of India. It is a monthly health bulletin in publication since 1957. It is published in English and covers all aspects of public health. Scope of each issue or bound volume is outlined in the folder-level description.

The intellectual arrangement preserves publication month/year. The collections are on loan at the Archives at NCBS. Series 1 contains available single issues and bound volumes on loan from the St John’s Library in Bangalore, India. Each subsequent series will contain single issues and bound volumes not already present in Series 1, and from other institutions. Sub series within a series is by publishing decade (1951-1960, 1961-1970, and so on). Folders are chronological, arranged by month and year.
