The accession consists of papers belonging to Ram Kumar Varma. Varma was a physicist who worked on Plasma Physics & Astrophysics, Foundations of Quantum Mechanics, and Classical Quantum Relationships. He was the former director of the Physical Research Laboratory (PRL), Ahmedabad. The papers contain his correspondence, PhD thesis, notebooks, writings and speeches, certificates and biographical material, photographs and photo albums, scientific data from micro-film slides and notes, research reports, and a number and symbol steel stamps.

Rajat Varma, Ram Kumar Varma's son from Ahmedabad, packed and sent the collection to the Archives. It was received at the Archives by Venkat S on 11 February 2024. Another set of materials arrived on 19th February.
