Abstract Obaid Siddiqi (1932-2013) was the co-founder and first Centre Director of the National Center for Biological Sciences (NCBS) in Bangalore. Siddiqi worked extensively on genetic neurobiology of the fruit fly, Drosophila melanogaster.
