Scope and Contents
The 1967 letter is from Nishida at the Institute of Space and Aeronautical Science, University of Tokyo, declining a visit to India; encloses a paper on the equatorial electrojet and mentions Cahill. The first letter in 1969 from Sastry references a Equatorial Aeronomy conference in Ahmedabad and includes a request to Obayashi to undertake collaborative rocket experiments at Thumba; mentions an upcoming COSPAR conference in Prague and Cahill. Nishida's response in March 1969 informs Sastry of Obayashi's proposal for joint experiments, and references a visit to MIT and a meeting with Arnoldy, Cahill's successor at UNH. Sastry's response on March 28 notes Sarabhai's paper presentation at the Madrid Symposium and notes Dr. Suguira's revised model of the electrojet. Correspondence in November 1969 concerns Sastry's request for a reference from Nishida. The 1976 letter concerns a miscommunication, Sastry clarifies that he is not Mr.Shastri who is another scientist working in the Kodaikanal Observatory.
