Includes: correspondence between Swaminathan, appointed Special Editor, and Peter B. Moens, the Editor of Genome, regarding the submission of manuscripts for various authors (25 April 1988 - 23 May 1988, 5 August 1988, 21 August 1988, 6 September 1988 - November 1988); checklist for publication and instructions to authors from Genome; correspondence between Swaminathan and various scientists -- Crodowaldo Pavan, Ernesto Paterniani, V. Ye. Sokolov. V.K. Shumny, Graham Strachan (through Gurdev S. Khush), Shao Qiquan -- regarding their participation as Speakers at the Symposium (July 1988); draft list of Symposia; paper titled 'Impact of Economic Policy on the Development of Genetics in China' by Li Zhensheng of the Chinese Academy of Sciences and a letter from Li Zhensheng forwarding the manuscript to Swaminathan (29 September 1988) along with Swaminathan's draft reply (19 October 1988); correspondence with Ken J.
