Scope and Contents

Newspaper clippings of articles in in newspapers such as the Times of India (Pune Times), Maharashtra Herald, Prabhat and Intelligent Pune on : eco-friendly initiatives such as plastic bag reduction, ban on uprooting of rare species on monsoon trails, construction of replacement bird nests, a National Green Corps / Green Army march terrace gardens and eco-construction; assessment of the government’s measures for improving environmental parameters including coverage of a major fire at the Urali Devachi garbage depot, contested between PMC and neighbouring residents; garden construction and the stay on construction of Paud-Balbharati Road by civil judge, criticism of PMC’s study tours, undeserved eco-award from MoEF, littering in P L Deshpande garden during Tree Authority meeting, and inequitable water allocation in Pune’s neighbourhoods; and local interest stories such as as procurement of land for eco-park at ARAI, space for Pune Zoo and establishment of citizen’s watch group Ankush Pathak,.
