Scope and Contents

It contains an invitation from the Swedish Minister to a reception at the Delhi Gymkhana Club, celebrating the birthday of the King of Sweden. Contains the following: i. A menu card and a seating plan for the Dinner at Uppsala Castle as part of the Second International Congress of Crystallography. ii. Invitation from Maulana Abul Kalam Azad to the opening of the Indian Institute of Technology, Kharagpur. Contains a menu card from the Official Dinner organised by the Union Radio-Scientifique Internationale at Elizabeth Bay, Sydney. It also includes a schedule of address talks and signatures of the attendees inside the card. i. Invitation from the Administrative Secretary of the Indian Council of World Affairs to a series of meetings to be held in March 1953. ii. A card from a Dinner in honour of the Delegates to the International Conference on Theoretical Physics held in Tokyo and Kyoto and organised by the Federation of Economic Organisations of Japan and the Japan Chamber of Commerce and Industry. Inside the card are the signatures of delegates present at the dinner. ii. A letter from the Royal Society of Arts London detailing their Bicentenary Celebrations 1954. i. Invitation to a Civic Reception to the Delegates of the 41st Session of the Indian Science Congress at Osmania University, Hyderabad. ii. Invitation from the President of India to a meeting at the Rashtrapati Bhavan, New Delhi. iii. Invitation from the president and the members of The Aeronautical Association of the Madras Institute of Technology to the inaugurations of the association by group captain M S Chaturvedi at the institute premises, Chromepet. i. A small photo album contains eight photographs from the town of Bagnères-De-Bigorre where the Annual Session of the Executive Committee of the Conseil International Des Unions Scientifiues took place. ii. Invitation from the Ministry of Education at a Reception at the Hyderabad House, New Delhi, to meet the Indian Cultural Delegation to USSR and East European Countries. iii. Invitation from the President and the Executive Committee of the Indian and Eastern Newspaper Society to open the IENS Buildings in New Delhi. iv. The invitation from the Director of UNESCO South Asia Science Co-operation Office is to a Reception in New Delhi to meet the Scientific Delegates of the 9th Session of the UNESCO General Conference. v. Invitation to an event at the National Stadium, Delhi, on Jawaharlal Nehru's 67th Birthday. It also contains some garden notes on the back of the card. vi. Invitation from the Ministry of Education to three events presented by the Sangeet Natak Akademi in honour of the Delegated to the Ninth Session of the General Conference of UNESCO held at New Delhi. vii. Invitation from the Ministry of Education to a Reception to meet the Members of the Czechoslovak Cultural Delegation at Hyderabad House, New Delhi. i. Invitation from the director, staff, and students of the Institute of Science, Bombay, to the Annual Social Gathering of the Institute. ii. Invitation from the Department of Atomic Energy to inaugurate the Atomic Energy Establishment at Trombay and the formal opening of the Swimming Pool Reactor. iii. Invitation from the Indian Standards Institution to the inauguration of the Third Commonwealth Standards Conference by Moraji Desai at the Central Hall of the Parliament House, New Delhi iv. Invitation from the Commonwealth Secretary to a Dinner at the Ashoka Hotel, New Delhi v. Invitation from the Secretary, Ministry of Agriculture, to a Dinner to meet Norman C Wright at the Hyderabad House, New Delhi vi. Invitation to meet the Delegates to the Third Commonwealth Standards Conference held at the National Sports Club, New Delhi vii. Invitation to a "Swagat Samaroh" in honour of V K Krishna Menon in Delhi viii. Invitation from Indian Railways to a Variety Entertainment Program in connection with the Railway Week Celebrations held at the Railway Stadium, Paharhanj, New Delhi ix. Invitation from the Management of the Central Bank of India Limited to the Karol Bagh Branch Opening Ceremony, New Delhi. x. Invitation from the Chargé d'Affaires of the Federal Republic of Germany to the Inauguration of the German Reading Room at Max Mueller Bhavan, New Delhi. xi. Invitation from the Chairman and the Members of the Academic and Executive Councils of the University of Delhi to inaugurate the Department of Buddhist Studies. xii. Invitation from All India Radio to the Sardar Patel Memorial Lectures by J B S Haldane. i. Invitation from the High Commissioner for Ghana for an event to mark the first anniversary of Ghana's Independence. ii. Invitation from the Commercial Counsellor of the German Democratic Republic to a farewell reception. iii. Invitation from the Principal and members of the Madrasi Higher Secondary School, New Delhi staff to the Vana Mahotsava Celebrations. iv. Invitation from the People's Republic of China Ambassador for an event to mark the 9th Anniversary of the Founding of the People's Republic of China. v. A program schedule brochure and an invitation from the Acharya Jagadish Chandra Bose Birth Centenary Committee regarding the Birth Centenary celebrations of Jagadish Chandran Bose on 30 November 1958, organised by the Bose Institute. Table plan of a Luncheon Party at Rashtrapati Bhavan, New Delhi. ii. Invitation from the Science Associations of The American College, Madurai, to a Valedictory Function where K S Krishan will deliver the Valedictory Address. iii. Invitation from the Alexander von Humboldt-Komitee to a state celebration organised by the government of the German Democratic Republic on the occasion of the 100th death anniversary of Alexander von Humboldt. Along with the invitation is a program schedule of the celebrations. iv. Two invitations were received from the All India Writer's Conference secretary, Madras, to attend a Working Committee. v. Invitation from the Physics Association of St. Joseph's College, Tiruchirapalli for an Extraordinary Meeting. vi. Invitation from the secretary of the Linguistic Circle of Delhi to attend a "Symposium on Paniniya Siksa". vii. A menu card in French from an unknown event. Contains the signatures of the attendees on the back of the card. Includes notices to the twenty-third annual meeting of the National Academy of Sciences, India, International Union of Pure and Applied Physics, Symposium on Magnetism organised by the Indian Association for the Cultivation of Science and meetings of the Society for Visiting Scientists.
