Content Description

From the Collection:

The collection includes various publications from NCBS since its inception. The NCBS Annual Reports make up most of the collection. But it also includes calendars, diaries, and posters. NCBS Annual reports are dated from 1992 - 2017. (Also see NI-006, which includes TIFR Annual reports between 1945 – 1997). The NCBS annual reports provide an insight into the growth of an institution with the gradual addition of new faculty, lab facilities and equipment. The development of biology as a science can be traced in the advancements made by the faculty and their various collaborations with Institutions all over the world.

The publications do not have a central office at NCBS. Historically, the annual reports have been managed by the administration, the academic office, the Research Development Office (RDO). Since 2018, NCBS has a Communications office and most of the publications will be managed by this unit.

The Communication office advices on brand matters, use of campus logos and related material. It coordinates putting together and publication of Annual reports, calendars and other print material. The Communication office also puts out news and press releases of the latest research work of students and faculty of NCBS that gets published in peer-reviewed journals. The Communication office manages content for the NCBS and InStem Facebook pages and Twitter handles.
