Correspondence between Pittie and Manakadan on various birding research matters. Topics include commentary on bird taxonomy including reference and the need for standardisation of bird names, Pittie's nomenclature work and Manakadan's intention of furthering this work through the BNHS; bird lists and research queries (including one for S.P. Bhatnagar); and comments on issues of the Newsletter for Birdwatchers and Buceros, including Pittie's preface for the NLBW.
