i. The 1985 letter contains details of research proposals for a program at IISc. The letter is signed by Geetha R. Gadagkar on behalf of Madhav Gadgil. ii. The 1986 letters contain details related to the MAB Young Scientists program and requests to UNESCO for a visit to the conservation monitoring centers at Kew, Cambridge, and Washington.
