i. The 1984 letter to N V Joshi is an acknowledgment of the submission of the abstract titled "Evolution of Optimal Sex Ratios in Social Insects" by N V Joshi and Raghavendra Gadagkar. ii. The 1985 letter contains details about the Berkley Mathematical Modeling Conference along with the conference registration form and guidelines. Also contains the abstract submitted for the conference by N V Joshi.
