First letter transmits a report on the PhD thesis of Naryiendiah, not enclosed. Second letter concerns a paper on averages of fractional parts of numbers, and requests it be communicated to the editor of the Proceedings of the Indian Academy of Sciences, and suggests Madhava Rao as president of the India Mathematical Society, instead of himself, despite the Council's nomination.
