The accession consists of papers belonging to B C Choudhury, a wildlife biologist, herpetologist, and conservationist. He was associated with the Wildlife Institute of India for over 30 years and has worked in wildlife management and conservation of Indian Cranes, Sea Turtles, and Crocodilians. The papers contain Choudhury's correspondence, newsletters on ecology and wildlife, drafts of research papers, research references, and reprints of research work. It also includes rare books on wildlife, media clippings, and publications on ecology and conservation in India.

The collection was packed and sent from Choudhury's residence in Dehradun with the help of Ajith Kumar and Rohit Jha. It was received at the Archives by Ravi B on 19 January 2024.
