Content Description
The accession consists of mostly photographic materials relating to the work and life of T N A Perumal. It contains photographic prints from exhibitions, negatives, slides, his instruments and some of his journals. There are also some cartridges, wooden slide boxes.

Mostly in good condition except for some of the negatives.

All material processed as a new collection, MS-038 (TNA Perumal Collection). All received material is retained for the collection except for duplicates.

Materials were brought to the archives by TNA Perumal's son TA Natarajan on 9 January 2024.
Retention Rule
Permanent retention. The TNA Perumal Collection fits within the scope of the Archives at NCBS as part of the history of wildlife photography in India. T.N.A. Perumal or Thanjavur Nateshachary Ayyamperumal was a wildlife photographer from Bangalore, Karnataka, India. He started taking photographs of flora and fauna in 1960 and was awarded with several awards for his photography. The archives shall have full authority to handle the material in the future, as per the Deed of Gift (except for third-party copyright)
